Treatment during pregnancy

Treatments can begin at any point during your pregnancy. Conservative measures are strongly considered during your first trimester, but our primary concern is helping you to feel good .

WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT PROVIDING YOU RELIEF FROM ANY PAIN YOU MAY ENDURE DURING THIS TIME.

Remember we have been there before and truly want to help optimize your function!

Birth preparation

Evidence based information on how to optimize your birth story for vaginal deliveries or planned c-section. Birth preparation appointments can begin around 34 weeks.

May only require 2-3 visits for us to have a comprehensive assessment of your body and your goals, provide education to optimize your birth story, and develop a customized routine that you can perform at home to prepare for the big day!

How we can support you

We offer services in-office or virtually. Our care is always patient-centered, individualized, evidence-based, and provided on a one-on-one basis. We believe in involving you in all decisions concerning your care and help empower you throughout your rehab journey. We also take a collaborative approach to involve other clinicians and health care providers as needed to ensure your needs are met.

How it works

  1. Set up a FREE phone consultation

  2. Schedule an appointment (in clinic and HOME VISITS available for early postpartum clients in the Columbus area)

  3. Get a customized treatment plan

Physical Therapy during pregnancy can address and treat a wide variety of issues such as:  

  • Pubic bone pain

  • Urinary leakage

  • Fecal leakage

  • Constipation

  • Painful sex

  • Neck pain

  • Pelvic pain

  • Diastasis Recti 

  • Rib pain

  • Back pain

  • Sciatic pain

  • Hip pain

  • Sacroiliac joint pain

Treatment may include but not be limited to:

-Manual treatments (can include joint and soft tissue manipulation, myofascial tissue techniques with cupping, IASTM, etc.)

-Core strengthening

-Pelvic floor strengthening or lengthening

-Postural strengthening and functional movement modifications

-Scar tissue treatment for previous tearing/episiotomy/c-section 

-Safe exercises and what to avoid during pregnancy

-Exercises and stretches that can help prepare the body for delivery and faster postpartum recovery
